There has been an average of 60 deaths per year from "mass" shootings by private citizens of the US for the last four years. I say "private" because that's not counting deaths from law enforcement officers, which, frankly is appalling (perhaps more on that on another post), and with a USA population of 327 million that's ONE death per 5.5 million people. Not good. It's jus' not. It's sad and pathetic, but honestly, it's not nearly as dreadful as we are propogandized to believe by the Centralized Media Complex (my phrase).
So here's a wee bit of calming elixir for some perspective to see through all the crazed and smoke-hazed propaganda of the gun hating zealots:
-- There were 120 sports-related deaths of young athletes in 2008-2009
-- 49 in 2010
-- 39 in 2011
-- 33 in 2012
-- 32 in 2013
Check it out here: Youth Sports Safety Alliance
So, now, naturally if I were a raving-mad communist hippy I would be advocating the complete cessation of all organized youth sports, but, strangely they...are...not. They're also not advocating legislation for the ending of any other "mass" death devices such as automobiles or lightning, which kills on average 51 people per year. ("Lightning???" you say, "No one would push to stop lightning Corey, that's jus' idiotic!" Well, not really. Two words to prove it could actually happen with the secular atheists: gender identification.)
The thing is, the number of guns in the US has risen from 242 million in 1996 to 357 million in 2013, and yet during the same time the number of homicide rates have dropped precipitously from 9 per 100,000 in 1990 to only 4.5 in 2014, and it just keeps dropping little by little each year since! SO guns are certainly NOT the problem or we should be seeing stark increases of average homicides, but that is not the case whatsoever (Psst... now, don't tell your Christian dispensational and/or historic premil friend that last bit of info either cause it's a real let-down for them when culture is shown to be morally improving).
Just a little bit of encouragement and perspective from your Uncle Corey.
