State Idolatry

#1 -- Christian idolatry: I took this picture recently outside a Christian church building in Sandpoint, Idaho; no comment needed.   As my friend said when I showed him the pic, "I guess Jesus knows His place..."

#2 -- Secular worldview position:  Here is a link to the Veterans of Foreign Wars pamphlet "Etiquette of the Stars and Stripes The United States Flag: Its History and How to Display and Respect It."  It is an outline of Federal Congress' "Public Law 94-344"  This little white pamphlet is handed out on Veterans Day and Fourth of July, and no one ever reads it (let's be honest), but this time I did.

Check out page 16 under the question "Is it proper to place the Bible, flowers, a lodge emblem or any other object upon the U.S. flag?
AnswerNo.  Nothing should ever rest upon the U.S. flag.

As John Calvin stated so well, so long ago:  Humans are idol factories.
