It's not all gloom-and-doom out there, and, well, it never actually is; but boy o' boy do we Christians like to talk about how "bad" it is, and we usually talk this way over a full, delicious meal in a comfortable warm, or A/C, house after a blessed day of work to which we drove comfortably in an climate controlled vehicle right after we ate an easily made, hearty breakfast right after we took a hot, convenient shower after we woke out of a delightful, restful, undisturbed sleep in a soft bed to which you had gone to bed the night prior with a full stomach. Yes, hmm, the "world" is really awful. I'll just say, let's keep our perspective and let Scripture lead us as to our view of what is happening and not let the world lead your reading of Scripture.

My Comment: Godliness can be saying, "NO. This darkness stops here with me.", and THAT can often be, and usually is, the most loving and merciful action you can do for the lost. To capitulate and compromise with wickedness such as this is not "love" nor is it living out "the Gospel"; rather it is following a bastardized, maudlin sentiment masquerading as the Biblical Love.
"Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love." (1st Cor.16:13-14)
