Franklin Graham: Finished with Republicans and Issues a Challenge

"Shame on the Republicans and the Democrats for passing such a wasteful spending bill last week. And to top it off, funding Planned Parenthood! A Huffington Post article called it “a big win for Planned Parenthood.” I call it a big loss for America. After all of the appalling facts revealed this year about Planned Parenthood, our representatives in Washington had a chance to put a stop to this, but they didn’t.
There’s no question—taxpayers should not be paying for abortions! Abortion is murder in God’s eyes. Seeing and hearing Planned Parenthood talk nonchalantly about selling baby parts from aborted fetuses with utter disregard for human life is reminiscent of Joseph Mengele and the Nazi concentration camps! That should’ve been all that was needed to turn off the faucet for their funding. Nothing was done to trim this 2,000 page, $1.1 trillion budget.
This is an example of why I have resigned from the Republican Party and declared myself Independent. I have no hope in the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, or Tea Party to do what is best for America. Unless more godly men and women get in this process and change this wicked system, our country is in for trouble.
I want to challenge Christians, even pastors, across the country to pray about running for office where they can have an impact. We need mayors, country commissioners, city council members, school board members who will uphold biblical values.
In just a couple of weeks, I will begin going state by state to every capital in our nation to hold prayer rallies for our country and share this same challenge on the Decision America Tour. Des Moines, Iowa, is first on January 5. I hope you’ll join me in your capital—check decisionamericatour.com for more dates and details."

Ya know this godly man just flat-out has "girded up his loins" and doesn't seem to have any fear of man whatsoever.  I love it! Love it!  And like he said, we need more men -- like him -- who are seasoned and wise who will enter into leading at the gates of our cities.

What we do NOT need though is a rehash of the "moral majority" or the "religious right" of yesteryear, who showed that they were only interested in merely having a seat at the tables of power and push moralism or "values" (this is where I'd make a clarification with Graham's challenge). Moralism , or values, are not the Word of God Almighty.  Moralism is just legalistic, watered down, mambee-pambee,  pharisaical  rubbish.    Moralism is not discipling the NATIONS,  it is propping up faux-church idolatry!

We do not need more of this, rather we need ALL the Law-word of Christ the King declared and taught so widely and richly by godly civil leaders that it will lead to a reforging of our culture -- even in our civil laws -- and THAT, ladies and gentlemen, has not ever been truly tried here in these States of the United Blob.  And, make no mistake about it, the religion of the people is what creates culture. One more time, just for kicks: The religion of the people is what creates culture.  It's not just part of culture, rather the confessed religion of a culture is the soil from which all else comes from.

And, folks, I know I've written this several times before, but again, we become like our leaders.  We don't like to hear it, but it's true.  The Scriptures don't declare that you become like what, or who, you worship just for philosophical ruminations (Psalm 115.8).  It says that to show you and I the principle of what, or who, is leading you is actually forming you and shaping you in the present.

So, it is either Messiah or an idol.  KING Jesus or a demon.  And godly, Word-centered men who are leading in the civil government (community, city, state, or national) will stand as a representative minister for Jesus here on Earth, and the Spirit will work through that man to form and direct the people under his "ministry" (i.e. serving).  Not because that man is "good" but because the triune Creator is Good and has deemed to work that way in creation.  God loves to work by, with and through ordinary means to effect and change His image bearer's hearts and minds.

We just must find men who are willing to serve King Jesus in that way, and who are found to have shepherded their own family well already. Hence the man needs to be older and not in the middle of rearing and discipling young children; that is the Biblical ideal of course, but it won't be realized every time.  And, Yes, that "shepherding ones own family well" is a godly principle for men leading for King Jesus in all spheres (governments), not just regulated to His chosen People.
