Here's a link talking about a two-year Barna study showing that teaching elders are unwilling to teach Scriptural principles concerning social and civil topics that are typically regarded as "culturally incorrect".
It also reveals what the top five factors are that the vast majority of pastors turn to when defining "success" in their "ministy". And here they are: Attendance (what?!), Giving (huh?), Number of Programs (no way! really?), Size of Staff (get outta here! be serious!), and How large the church building is (Huh...strange, who woulda guessed?). Yep. Pretty sweet list isn't it?
Unfortunately, not much of a surprise. The humanistic, institutional "church" (Protestant, Roman and Eastern Orthodox) and it's leaders are completely idolatrous.
Power, Prestige and Possessions are their gods.
