The Apostles' Patterns of Sacred Fellowship

We Christians often go about living together in congregations in a loose adherence to some of the New Covenant Scriptures admonishments and commands that concern the practices of our weekly life with one-another.  We've all been firmly convinced that unless the Bible specifically commands something we are free to do what we will involving church life.  Whereas the set traditions, or patterns, the apostles practiced for "doing" church together is seen by us modern believers as merely interesting history.
Is that all they are just stodgy, old history facts?  Or could their first-century practices be patterns that are normative for us today?  Does the Bible ever tell us specifically to imitate the practices prescribed in the NC?  Hmm...maybe.  Seems plausible, right?
Well, give it some thought by reading this fine article by Steve Atkerson who directs the New Testament Reformation Fellowship.  It's entitled Timeless Apostolic Traditions
